With a tropical Caribbean theme, guests at Cedar Point's Castaway Bay will feel like they have just landed on an island paradise upon entering this lush indoor waterpark resort. The centerpiece of Castaway Bay is its elaborate enclosed waterpark with a five-story structure featuring a vaulted wood ceiling that covers a natural setting of palm trees, huts, inland lagoons and plenty of wet and wild water adventure.

Combined with Soak City, our lifeguards have exceeded both industry standards and those of Ellis & Associates for over ten years. We are proud to be recognized as a facility that consistently exceeds the requirements for certification and provide the highest degree of swimmer protection in the industry.

The unique features of the Ellis program devised include:
- an initial assessment of facility for safety practices and risk control
- training of staff in the NPWLTP course
- an agreement, signed by the trainee, to maintain fitness & skills at all times
- an agreement with facility management to maintain recommended risk management procedures
- unannounced audits of facility and staff, to insure competence and maintenance of standards
- Oxygen tanks for each facility.

The highlights of this huge indoor waterpark include:
Cargo Crossing
Interactive play area in which guests have to cross a pool of water using floating lily pads and a cargo net. Must be 46” tall in bare feet or accompanied by a responsible person to participate. Lifejackets are required for guests less than 52 inches.
Castaway Bay Wave Pool
A 100,000-gallon wave pool that generates 3-foot-tall waves which guests can body surf. A cascading waterfall serves as a scenic backdrop. Guests under 48 inches and weak or non-swimmers must wear a lifejacket. Guests less than 42 inches tall must also be accompanied by a responsible person.
Creature Cove
Pool area offers basketball hoops and numerous flotation devices. Must be 46” tall in bare feet or accompanied by a responsible person to participate. Lifejackets are required for guests less than 52 inches.
Lookout Lagoon Family Funhouse
A gigantic multi-story interactive play area with more than 100 different elements, including a 1,000-gallon tipping bucket that drenches guests every two minutes with a downpour of water. Must be 40” tall in bare feet to ride slides 8 feet in the air or higher. Must be between 36”-48” tall in bare feet to ride on any slides lower than 8 feet in the air.
Mango Melee
One of four water slides located within the Lookout Lagoon Family Funhouse. Must be between 36”-48” tall in bare feet to participate.
Paradise Plunge
One of four water slides located within the Lookout Lagoon Family Funhouse. Must be at least 40” tall in bare feet to participate.
Pineapple Pipeline
One of four water slides located within the Lookout Lagoon Family Funhouse. Must be at least 40” tall in bare feet to participate.
Rendezvous Run
A rousing 35-foot-high, 520-foot-long water roller coaster that propels riders uphill using water jets. This unique water coaster twists its way through the waterpark, shoots outside the resort’s structure in an enclosed slide and then spirals back into the complex. Must be 42” tall in bare feet to participate.
The Grotto Spa/Hot Tub
Two 50-person whirlpool spas – one indoor and one outdoor – where guests can kick back and relax in a calming atmosphere. A responsible adult must accompany children under the age of 16.
Toddlers’ Tide Pool
A children’s play pool with a tandem slide, water pipes, spraying gadgets and sea creature play structures designed especially for kids. Must be less than 52” tall in bare feet or accompanied by a child to participate.
Tropical Twister
One of four water slides located within the Lookout Lagoon Family Funhouse. Must be between 36”-48” tall in bare feet to participate.
Tropical Tube Slides
Three indoor/outdoor covered body slides. Must be at least 46” tall in bare feet to participate.
